We are proud to announce our newest sponsored team, Lia van der Wal and her OTTB Alpha Ray (Reya). They are a Three-Day eventing team which competes in THREE disciplines: Cross Country, Dressage, and Show Jumping.
Reya came to us with crumbling hoof walls, and her traditional steel shoes would not stay on...
Lia's mother, Leslie, and their trainer, Mary Long, thought we would have to pull shoes, taking Reya off the competition circuit until a new stronger hoof wall could grow in.
We were able to keep this team in competition with some creative uses of Kevlar and a few specialized composite shoes. With diet change and proper hoof care, Reya now has strong hooves and a great support package!
We saw "this" at a clients facility today. Just like humans horses have a specific diet. Knowing what exactly your horse is eating and HOW MUCH is very important. Trim and Train is here to help if you have questions.
Sarah (and Jon) got some tips from a Founding Member of the PHCP team this month. Our Mentor, Leslie Carrig was in town from Colorado, on a special trip (in February 2015, escaping a harsh winter & visiting the SOCAL sunshine... not mention) aiding in a little "continuing education" for 6 PCHP Students. I recomend learning from a lady, not only do they have the most beautiful accesories but impecable style, and efficency with their tools... for a lady, there is no "muscling through A Trim" and Leslie taught us precision and biomechanics. We enjoyed having her wisdom and amazing skill set around to soak in - of course we appreciated all that she had to share with us and keep her words close to our tools ~ Happy Triming + Happy Trails !
We have partnered with a great nutritional supplement California Trace. CA Trace is exactly the Trace Minirals our horses need to keep them as healthy as possible and is designed specifucally to supplement the grasses we get right here in California. We can provide you with this supplement at a savings.
